Dr. Todd Hutton, Medical Director of SoCal TMS, has been published again in Brain Stimulation, the premier journal in the field of neuromodulation. Dr Hutton was the lead author on “Dosing transcranial magnetic stimulation in major depressive disorder: Relations between number of treatment sessions and effectiveness in a large patient registry“

“In a study of 7215 MDD patients, there were powerful associations between number of TMS sessions and effectiveness.”
“The average trajectory was rapid improvement over the first 10 sessions then a markedly slower but steady rate.”
“Patients with long TMS courses had reduced benefit after 10 sessions but steady improvement thereafter.”
“There was no evidence in group data that the antidepressant effects of TMS plateau with additional treatment.”
“The additional treatments given to patients with long TMS courses were associated with substantial clinical improvement.”
