Dr. Ames is a board-certified psychiatrist who is passionate about cutting-edge treatment approaches to alleviate mental suffering. She received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master’s of Arts at Stanford University, where she studied developmental science. She received her Doctor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and completed her residency training in Psychiatry at the University of California Riverside School of Medicine and the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she was selected as Chief Resident in her final year based on leadership, teaching, and clinical skills. Dr. Ames has experience in multiple areas of psychiatry, is active in private practice where she provides pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, and is a fellow at the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. She is dedicated to advancing treatment for difficult-to-treat psychiatric conditions and is thrilled to be a part of the SoCal TMS team.
