Dr. Joshua Poole is a board-certified psychiatrist who is fascinated by the human mind and the various ways that emerging interventional treatments can be used to benefit his patients. He finished his medical school and residency training in Riverside, California at UC Riverside School of Medicine. During his residency he completed a one year program to obtain his Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies. During this same time he also completed the two-year Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program at the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. He has also served as a peer reviewer for CME course modules on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy provided through the online educational network Psychedelic Support. He has twice published with Stephen Stahl, MD. The first was an article on new medications for psychiatric disorders which was published in Psychiatric Clinics of North America and the second was a case study for Dr. Stahl’s most recent edition of Stahl’s Essential Psychopharmacology. Finally, Dr. Poole is a co-host on the podcast and radio show Let’s Get Psyched operated by KUCR. He hopes to use his varied interests and dedication to interventional treatments to help alleviate suffering and promote mental wellness in every patient he meets.
